There is a rapidly increasing number of incubators in the Philippines and the ASEAN region to join the large number of facilities in the US, Europe and several other countries. This increase in private and government-funded incubators raised several incubator models with various interactions and dynamics between its host university, the community and other key players. It also highlights the institution’s unique role in national and global innovation systems.
This conference calls for an exchange of theoretical and practical ways in which various educational institutions can be empowered to improve the impact and performance of the program, provide better community engagement, support policy makers and enhance research undertakings that form the backbone of incubators especially when study visits are not viable. Exposing the HEIs that already have or have yet to establish their own incubators to this conference may uncover empirical evidence of the role played by incubators in driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the changing environments.
